Happy One Month!

Tanner turned one month on September 25th. We can't believe how much he has grown. He has brought us so much joy and we are so thankful for him. The first month has been a little crazy... getting used to breastfeeding (all the time) and figuring out what works for us. Now that he's a month, we definitely have more of a schedule when it comes to eating and naps.

These were taken September 2nd (8 days old).

Grabbed Dad for a couple shots before he went out to mow the lawn.

Photos taken on September 6th (12 days old):

Our first outing: Tanner's 1st Check up (12 days old):

Tanner grew a half inch and gained almost a whole pound since birth!

Other photos from his first few weeks of life!

My mom came when Tanner was 8 days old and we were so happy to have her! She cooked and cleaned, took care of Tanner so I could get some sleep, and just partied it up with us! We wish she didn't have to go back home :(

Tanner likes the baby wrap when it isn't too hot.

Andrew's mom came when Tanner was about 3 weeks old. She was so incredibly helpful and made delicious meals and desserts! She loved being around Tanner and held him every chance she got (more sleep for me!). Tanner is her first grandbaby, it was a tough goodbye as well.

Joan made Tanner this beautiful quilt focused on one of Andrew's favorite childhood books that she read to him, "Guess How Much I Love You?" We love it!

Tanner Facts:

-Tanner loves eating, and even though it was difficult the first week or so, he's a very good eater.
-He loves being held and snuggled and I just love having his little head rest on my shoulder.
-Tanner sleeps 4-5 hour stretches at night, but feeds about every 2 hours during the day. He takes lots of naps during the day but still sleeps well at night (yay!).
-When Tanner is awake, he is very alert and loves looking around.
-He will sometimes enjoy being in his swing, but usually not. He likes his bouncer more but only likes it for about 30 minutes max. at a time.
-He usually only gets fussy when he's hungry or sleepy.
-Tanner sleeps in his rock 'n play sleeper by our bed at night, but in his crib during naps. We decided to just give it a go because he seemed to love spreading out and sleeping on his back. He sleeps 2-3 hour stretches in his crib for naps.
-He doesn't spit up a whole lot and is a great burp-er.
-Tanner enjoys our walks around the neighborhood and usually falls asleep.
-He doesn't mind being in the carseat as long as the car's moving (or stroller when on walks).
-Tanner will take the Mam pacifier but only when he's fussy.
-His changing table is one of the places he is most content, he almost never cries while being changed.
-He loves his baths! The sound of running water and warm water soothes him every time (except his first bath). The only part he doesn't like is when the bath is over.
-We love seeing Tanner kick his little feet! He does it often, but especially on the changing table or in his crib.
-Tanner holds his head up really well for such a young guy... but he has since the day he was born.
-We love giving his LOTS of kisses and hugs, hopefully he doesn't mind.

Happy one month of life, Tanner!
